Rufus Wainwright (nacido el 22 de julio de 1973 en Rhinebeck, Nueva York, EE. UU.) es un cantautor estadounidense-canadiense. Es hijo de los cantantes de folk Loudon Wainwright III y Kate McGarrigle, y hermano de la también cantante Martha Wainwright. Empezó a tocar el piano con 6 años e hizo giras con su familia a los 13. Alrededor de los 20 años comenzó su etapa solista, y desde entonces se ha convertido en un reconocido artista. Su música tiene marcadas influencias líricas que van desde la ópera hasta la chanson francesa, pasando por el musical.Ha colaborado en varias bandas sonoras de películas como Les aventuriers du timbre perdu - I'm a-runnin', El aviador de Martin Scorsese, El diario de Bridget Jones, Yo soy Sam, Zoolander, Shrek, Moulin Rouge y Brokeback Mountain, entre otras. El tema ofrecido hoy , se titula Across the universe, versión de Rufus de la original compuesta por Los Beatles.

Hace unos años que descubrí a Cali,cantante y compositor francés. En el escenario anima al público a participar en la defensa de los derechos fundamentales, las de los inmigrantes extranjeros en Francia, por ejemplo. Fan del rock anglosajón (Simple Minds, The Waterboys y The Clash Las, por ejemplo) y canciones francesas (Leo Ferré, Jacques Brel, .... El tema de hoy se titula C'est quand le bonheur (¿Para cuando la felicidad?)

Me gusta la voz de Perry Blake, y como todavía no había traído nada de él, al blog, he decidido hacerlo hoy con el tema This time it's goodbye.Perry Blake (10 de mayo de 1970) es un irlandés cantante y compositor de Sligo , conocido por la delicada, downtempo, estilo melancólico de sus canciones y su voz suave Sus influencias musicales incluyen a Leonard Cohen , David Sylvian , Scott Walker , y Nick Drake .  Ha colaborado con Françoise Hardy y escribió 2 canciones para su galardonado álbum: Tant de belles choses . También ha trabajado con Emilie Simon y Dañino Nancy.

Pues enterado de la aparición del último disco de Jason Mraz, con el nombre de love, no puedo más que traerlo al blog. ¡Es uno de los favoritos! El tema de hoy es el preferido de mi hija Alicia, así que a complacerla. Su título I Won't Give Up (Ya no perderé la confianza)

Jamie Woon, con el tema Shoulda. Jamie Woon es un cantante y compositor británico que, tras estudiar en la BRIT School y acompañar a Amy Winehouse en directo, lanzó trabajos personales Hijo de artistas, tras graduarse en la BRIT School un año después que Amy Winehouse, tuvo la oportunidad de acompañarla en directo. Le sirvió para mejorar y buscar su propio sonido, que se encuentra a mitad de camino entre la electrónica y el soul clásico. Publicó su primera referencia en el 2007, pero no llegó a calar entre el público hasta el 2011, momento en el que lanzó Mirrorwriting, un disco que servía para reforzar el movimiento retro procedente de las Islas Británicas desde principios del siglo XXI.

El tema que acompaña hoy a mi post en mi otro blog Siete en Familia, está compuesto por kek Lang, titulado Nai nani. El tema se encuentra también en la banda sonora de la película The Concert.

 

Hoy estoy nostálgico, así que rebusco entre mi discoteca algo que acompañe a mi estado y decido sacar un tema de uno de los grandes del jazz: John Coltrane y su tema Every Time Say Goodbye.

 

El tema musical que acompaña al post que hoy he publicado en mi otro blog Siete en Familia, pertenece al interpretado por Gecko Turner, titulado You Can't Own Me.Fernando Gabriel Echave, más conocido como Gecko Turner (Badajoz, 1966), es un músico y cantante extremeño.Es un músico ecléctico,su música reune influencias muy dispares: blues, folk, soul, funk, ritmos africanos, caribeños... incluso el pop y la electrónica. Tiene una visión muy particular de la música. Le caracterizan sus ritmos bailables, las bellas melodías y sus letras ingeniosas escritas en todos los idiomas.

 

Retomo esta nueva etapa, con un tema de Evanthia Rempoutsika, titulado Kalokairinh Broxh. Me fascina esta intéprete, que descubrí el pasado año. Toda su música es sublime, compositora también de bandas sonoras de películas.

 

Vamos a dejar Eurovisión, ya que los demás temas que he escuhado, ni fu ni fa. Hoy os traigo a un cantante de música cristiana. Jeremy Camp con el tema Healing hand of God.

 Nacido en el seno de una familia cristiana, es el hijo del pastor Tom Owen Camp y desde muy pequeño creció y se educó en una atmósfera cristiana. No por esto dejando a un lado su música, sino más bien apoyándose en ella para vivir una vida admirable. Si para ser una estrella es necesario tener un pasado impactante, entonces sin duda Jeremy cumple con el requisito.

Su historia comienza cuando durante un pequeño concierto en la universidad conoció Melissa, una muchacha que lo cautivó y con la cual salió durante 4 meses. Al terminar la relación Jeremy se dedico de lleno a su música y viajar por el mundo. La próxima vez se vieron, ésta estaba en el hospital siendo diagnosticada de cáncer de ovario. Cuando salió del hospital Jeremy se dijo a si mismo, que si era la voluntad del Señor que él se casara con ella, que entonces lo haría si ella decía que lo amaba.

Algo que parecía poco probable, ya que nunca lo llego a decirlo durante los 4 meses en que salieron juntos. Al día siguiente fue a verla de nuevo para ver como le estaba yendo con la quimioterapia. Fue allí cuando ella le dijo que si su muerte ayudaba a que alguien se encaminara hacia el Señor, que entonces habría valido la pena.

Cinco meses después la voluntad del Señor se impuso y se casaron. Melissa ya estaba mejor y su pelo había comenzado a crecer, pero al llegar de la luna de miel todo cambió y se le dieron pocos meses de vida. El 5 de febrero del 2001 Melissa con 21 años descansó en paz. Desde entonces Jeremy le ha dedicado su vida y su música a Jesús. Basta tan sólo con escuchar “I Still Believe”, la primera canción que escribió después de haber perdido a su esposa, para comprender la entrega total que tiene este artista con Cristo. Con letras que pueden llegar a tocar la parte más profunda de su alma .
