Como curiosidad, cabe destacar que David Garrett es señalado por el Libro Guinness de los Récords desde mayo de 2008 como el violinista más rápido. La prueba, lograda en el programa de televisión británico Blue Peter, consiste en tocar El vuelo del moscardón de Nikolái Rimski-Kórsakov lo más rápido posible, sin fallos y de manera que siga siendo reconocible la melodía. Consiguió este mismo récord en dos ocasiones. En la primera paró el tiempo en 66,56 segundos, unas trece notas por segundo. En la segunda ocasión, en diciembre de 2008 en la mismo Guinness World Records show, Garrett consiguió tocar la pieza en tan sólo 65,26 segundos.

Alexander Rybak, se convirtió en otro de mis cantantes favoritos, cuando lo conocí a través del festival de Eurovisión de 2009,con el que triunfó, obteniendo el primer puesto, con el récord de países, que le otorgaron los twelve points y los douze points .

A mí me encantó su canción, así que hoy la traigo al blog. El título : "Fairytale". Además me gusta este chico, porque siempre está de buen humor, con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja.

Rybak nació en la antigua Unión Soviética en la ahora independiente República de Bielorrusia. Él y sus padres se mudaron a Noruega cuando tenía cuatro años, y ahí fue donde se crió. Rybak comenzó a tocar instrumentos desde los cinco años, tocando actualmente el violín y el piano. Su madre es la famosa pianista Natallia Valiantsinauna Rybak y su padre el violinista Ihar Aliaksandravich Rybak, famoso en Noruega. Alexander ha declarado: "Siempre me gustó divertir a la gente y de alguna manera esta es mi vocación".

Creo que los viernes voy a dedicarlos a presentar solistas o grupos musicales que cantan canciones cristianas. Hay mucha calidad en ellos, así que creo vale la pena conocerlos y empiezo esta tanda con uno, descubierto haces unos días . Se trata de Leeland y la canción "The Great Awakening"

Leeland es una banda estadounidense de rock cristiano fundada en Baytown, Texas. La banda se formó en el 2004, sin embargo, su líder Leeland Mooring ya había estado escribiendo canciones. Leeland está conformado por Leeland Mooring (voz, guitarra), Jack Mooring (coros, teclados), Shelly Mooring (bajo) y Mike Smith (batería). La formación original de la banda incluía a Jeremiah Wood, que abandonó la banda a finales del 2006, fue sustituido por el guitarrista Matt Campbell a finales de la primavera del 2007, y actualmente solo Leeland Mooring es la voz y guitarra de la banda. En 2011, Jake Holtz sale de la banda, pues se alista en el ejército de los Estados Unidos, y es reemplazado por Shelly Mooring, hermana menor de Leeland y Jack Mooring  . Es que hoy, he estado escuchando algunas versiones del tema Stand By Me, (porque las hay para todos los gustos) que me transporta a mi adolescencia. Fleetwood Mac fue uno de mis grupos favoritos durante mi adolescencia, por eso cuando escuché el tema Dreams en una nueva versión, me alegré del descubrimiento, pero la interpretación que oía no era de Fleetwood Mac, sino de otro de mis grupos favoritos de la actualidad: "The Corrs" y me doy cuenta de que aún no he posteado sobre ellos, así que hoy es la ocasión para hacerlo.

Matthew Paul Miller, más conocido como Matisyahu (West Chester, Pensilvania, 1979), es un cantante estadounidense de reggae, aunque en su música mezcla influencias de los géneros sincopados como el dub y el ska. Muy afín con la cultura reggae, utiliza en sus letras temáticas espirituales derivadas de su condición de judío jasídico. Matisyahu es el equivalente hebreo al nombre Mateo. Su curiosidad espiritual lo llevó a Israel en un viaje que significó un punto de inflexión en su vida. Matisyahu aprovechó el tiempo rezando, estudiando y pensando en música en Jerusalén.

Su dormida identidad judía afloró a su consciencia y a su regreso acudió a un instituto en Bend (Oregón), introduciéndose en el reggae y el hip hop. Todas las semanas iba a un local de aficionados donde rapeaba, cantaba, le daba a la caja de ritmos (beat box) y se mantenía activo creativamente. Fue entonces cuando empezó a desarrollar el sonido reggae-hip hop que hoy le es tan característico.

Ayer cuando iba en el coche , escuché la canción que hoy traigo al blog. Me gustó. No conocía al artista. Se trata de Train, y el tema se titula "50 Ways To Say Goodbye", perteneciente a su álbum "California 37". A ver que os parece a vosotros.

Train es una banda de pop estadounidense, proveniente de San Francisco, California, formada en 1994. Actualmente, la banda cuenta con un trío básico, formado por Patrick Monahan (voz), Jimmy Stafford (guitarra, voz) y Scott Underwood (batería, percusión).
